Most Importantly to keep your web experience nice you first have to protect yourself online. First you need a firewall to protect from malicious hackers. Though not all hakers will screw up your computer (some of them won't even mess with anything, they get in and out without leaving a trace) it's better to be safe then sorry. This also protects from autodownloading virii (don't mistake this as a substitute for an antivirus though). This particular firewall protects from rats (remote administration tools better known as trojans, but in my view a trojan is a program that dumps a file then whatever. Not a program that allows people to control your comp.) by controlling what files are allowed to use the web. Next you need a Anti-virus program. This is probably the most iportant program you will use. This is another good av for windows 98. Last you need a Popup Blocker This is selfexplanitory. The pay pop-up blockers such as stop zilla (the best one) work much better than the free ones. I hope these things that are here make your web browsing better |
